Short Wave Radio operators will be set up and broadcasting as part of the International Lighthouse Lightship Weekend! From ILLW.net, "The ILLW usually takes place on the 3rd full weekend in August each year and attracts over 500 lighthouse entries located in over 40 countries. It is one of the most popular international amateur radio events in existence probably because there are very few rules and it is not the usual contest type event." You will be able to see Radio Operators in action and witness them contact other parts of the world through the radio waves! How neat! Reminder: Inclement weather may cancel or delay this event. This event takes place at Cape Jourimain's Lighthouse and a shuttle will be available for anyone wanting a ride there or back (or both) if you would rather not walk or are not able to. This event is free for Members of Cape Jourimain Nature Centre. For non-members, a contribution of $10 per vehicle will be requested upon entry to Cape Jourimain Nature Centre.
